Inside Ethiopia Tours was founded in 2015 by Binyam Ayaliew Kassaye. After graduating from the Hotel and Tourism Lion College in Addis Ababa back in 2011, Binyam started to work as a tour guide, first in his hometown, Lalibela, and then all over the country. He soon realised that the Ethiopian tourism business needed someone to provide a more specialised and detailed service adapted to the needs and interests of tourists, allowing visitors to interact with local communities in a respectful and responsible way. While starting his own tour company, he met Amanda, a Spanish teacher working in Addis Ababa.
Together, they found love while traveling around Ethiopia and after getting married, they lived in Spain and the USA, where they learned more about the tourism business and decided to become business partners. Now they are established in Addis Ababa, where they continue expanding their business. Personal and familiar is how they began, and that is how they continue to be.
